约4:1 主知道法利赛人听见他收门徒施洗比约翰还多
约4:1 When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
约4:2 （其实不是耶稣亲自施洗，乃是他的门徒施洗。）
约4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
约4:3 他就离了犹太，又往加利利去。
约4:3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
约4:4 必须经过撒马利亚，
约4:4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
约4:5 于是到了撒马利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。
约4:5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
约4:6 在那里有雅各井。耶稣因走路困乏，就坐在井旁。那时约有午正。
约4:6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
约4:7 有一个撒马利亚的妇人来打水，耶稣对她说：“请你给我水喝。”
约4:7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
约4:8 那时门徒进城买食物去了。
约4:8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
约4:9 撒马利亚的妇人对他说：“你既是犹太人，怎么向我一个撒马利亚妇人要水喝呢？”原来犹太人和撒马利亚人没有来往。
约4:9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
约4:10 耶稣回答说：“你若知道 神的恩赐和对你说‘给我水喝’的是谁，你必早求他，他也必早给了你活水。”
约4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
约4:11 妇人说：“先生，没有打水的器具，井又深，你从哪里得活水呢？
约4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
约4:12 我们的祖宗雅各将这井留给我们，他自己和儿子并牲畜也都喝这井里的水，难道你比他还大吗？”
约4:12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
约4:13 耶稣回答说：“凡喝这水的，还要再渴；
约4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
约4:14 人若喝我所赐的水，就永远不渴。我所赐的水要在他里头成为泉源，直涌到永生。”
约4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
约4:15 妇人说：“先生，请把这水赐给我，叫我不渴，也不用来这么远打水。”
约4:15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
约4:16 耶稣说：“你去叫你丈夫也到这里来。”
约4:16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
约4:17 妇人说：“我没有丈夫。”耶稣说：“你说没有丈夫，是不错的。
约4:17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
约4:18 你已经有五个丈夫，你现在有的，并不是你的丈夫，你这话是真的。”
约4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
约4:19 妇人说：“先生，我看出你是先知。
约4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
约4:20 我们的祖宗在这山上礼拜，你们倒说，应当礼拜的地方是在耶路撒冷。”
约4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
约4:21 耶稣说：“妇人，你当信我。时候将到，你们拜父也不在这山上，也不在耶路撒冷。
约4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
约4:22 你们所拜的，你们不知道；我们所拜的，我们知道，因为救恩是从犹太人出来的。
约4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
约4:23 时候将到，如今就是了。那真正拜父的，要用心灵和诚实拜他，因为父要这样的人拜他。
约4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
约4:24 神是个灵（或无“个”字），所以拜他的，必须用心灵和诚实拜他。”
约4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
约4:25 妇人说：“我知道弥赛亚（就是那称为基督的）要来，他来了，必将一切的事都告诉我们。”
约4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
约4:26 耶稣说：“这和你说话的就是他。”
约4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
约4:27 当下门徒回来，就希奇耶稣和一个妇人说话。只是没有人说：“你是要什么？”或说：“你为什么和她说话？”
约4:27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
约4:28 那妇人就留下水罐子，往城里去，对众人说：
约4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
约4:29 “你们来看！有一个人将我素来所行的一切事都给我说出来了，莫非这就是基督吗？”
约4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
约4:30 众人就出城往耶稣那里去。
约4:30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
约4:31 这其间，门徒对耶稣说：“拉比，请吃。”
约4:31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
约4:32 耶稣说：“我有食物吃，是你们不知道的。”
约4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
约4:33 门徒就彼此对问说：“莫非有人拿什么给他吃吗？”
约4:33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
约4:34 耶稣说：“我的食物就是遵行差我来者的旨意，做成他的工。
约4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
约4:35 你们岂不说‘到收割的时候还有四个月’吗？我告诉你们：举目向田观看，庄稼已经熟了（原文作“发白”），可以收割了。
约4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
约4:36 收割的人得工价，积蓄五谷到永生，叫撒种的和收割的一同快乐。
约4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
约4:37 俗语说‘那人撒种，这人收割’，这话可见是真的。
约4:37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
约4:38 我差你们去收你们所没有劳苦的，别人劳苦，你们享受他们所劳苦的。”
约4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
约4:39 那城里有好些撒马利亚人信了耶稣，因为那妇人作见证说：“他将我素来所行的一切事都给我说出来了。”
约4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
约4:40 于是撒马利亚人来见耶稣，求他在他们那里住下，他便在那里住了两天。
约4:40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
约4:41 因耶稣的话，信的人就更多了。
约4:41 And many more believed because of his own word;
约4:42 便对妇人说：“现在我们信，不是因为你的话，是我们亲自听见了，知道这真是救世主。”
约4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
约4:43 过了那两天，耶稣离了那地方，往加利利去。
约4:43 Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.
约4:44 因为耶稣自己作过见证说：“先知在本地是没有人尊敬的。”
约4:44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
约4:45 到了加利利，加利利人既然看见他在耶路撒冷过节所行的一切事，就接待他，因为他们也是上去过节。
约4:45 Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
约4:46 耶稣又到了加利利的迦拿，就是他从前变水为酒的地方。有一个大臣，他的儿子在迦百农患病。
约4:46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
约4:47 他听见耶稣从犹太到了加利利，就来见他，求他下去医治他的儿子，因为他儿子快要死了。
约4:47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
约4:48 耶稣就对他说：“若不看见神迹奇事，你们总是不信。”
约4:48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
约4:49 那大臣说：“先生，求你趁着我的孩子还没有死就下去。”
约4:49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
约4:50 耶稣对他说：“回去吧！你的儿子活了。”那人信耶稣所说的话，就回去了。
约4:50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
约4:51 正下去的时候，他的仆人迎见他，说他的儿子活了。
约4:51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
约4:52 他就问什么时候见好的。他们说：“昨日未时热就退了。”
约4:52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
约4:53 他便知道这正是耶稣对他说“你儿子活了”的时候；他自己和全家就都信了。
约4:53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
约4:54 这是耶稣在加利利行的第二件神迹，是他从犹太回去以后行的。
约4:54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
